Nutrition Month is celebrated in the month of July in the Philippines to increase public awareness on the importance of nutrition. This year, the National Nutrition Council (NNC) adapted the theme “Food at Nutrition Security, Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin”, highlighting the access to adequate and nutritious food as a fundamental human right.

Rafael Palma Elementary School actively participated in this nationwide campaign by organizing various activities that promote awareness, engagement, and action toward improved nutrition.

Various activities were launched. Slogan and poster-making contest were the highlights where students from grade 4, 5 and 6, expressed the theme creatively through artwork and short slogans.  The winners of the contests were awarded a Certificate of Recognition. During the culminating program, Ms. Ivy A. Tanglao, the school principal delivered an inspiring talk that focused on the importance of nutrition to enhance learning. The guest speaker Ms. Eliruth B. Santos-Castro,DMD presented the topic about “Dental Health and Nutrition”. 

The celebration was a success, with enthusiastic participation from students, parents, teaching and non-teaching staff. The activities helped instill the value of healthy eating and an active lifestyle. Nutrition Month 2025 achieved its goal of raising awareness and encouraging action toward better nutrition.
